Qualifications
- 3 years min of payroll processing experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Access
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work in a team setting & independently
- Analytical, highly organized and detail oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work efficiently and meet necessary deadlines
- Payroll certification a plus!
Responsibilities:
- Process the complete cycle of weekly payroll for 150+ employees. Payroll is processed in house
- Prepare all payroll related reports and distribute them to appropriate departments
- Process federal, state, and local payroll taxes weekly, monthly quarterly and or yearly as needed
- Process 401K contributions and payments
- Monitor submission of time records. Coordinate with managers to ensure approvals are followed.
- Perform validation on all payroll related matters and identify any discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage regulations and filing requirements
- Review, verify and approve any vendor benefits invoices. Reconcile with all payroll deductions
- Process any payroll changes
- Verify and process all new hire information, employment verifications, paid time off (PTO) requests/tracking, unemployment and temporary disability requests, deduction reporting and garnishments.
- Payroll year end process – W2s, updating PTO deductions and benefits.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee records and information
- Assist with ACA reporting requirements, employee benefits administration and coordination
- Post transactions to the general ledger and ensure accuracy across payroll and accounting systems.
- Manage cash receipts and assist with daily deposit tracking and reconciliation.
- Fleet coordination and upkeep of insurance cards and gas cards.
- Prepare and post statements and ensure timely reconciliation with internal accounts.
- Support ongoing evaluation and improvement of financial process controls.
- HR duties as needed
