Our Engineering and Design Capability
Control System Design Backed by Field Experience
Our engineering scope covers the full design lifecycle for building automation systems. We develop control system architectures, network topologies, points lists, panel schedules, and detailed sequences of operation for new construction, renovation, and retrofit projects.
For design-build and design-assist projects, our engineers join the design team early, providing input on platform selection, controller placement, sensor strategy, and integration requirements before construction documents are finalized. This early involvement eliminates the costly design-phase assumptions that create change orders and commissioning delays.
For plan & spec projects, our team reviews the engineer’s control specification, identifies conflicts or constructability concerns, and develops shop drawings and submittals that align with the design intent while reflecting installation best practices. We also provide independent BAS design services for facility owners and managers who need control system engineering for existing buildings without a design team on retainer.
Why Our Design Approach Is Different
Design Informed by Installation and Commissioning
Engineers Who Install What They Design
Our designers aren’t theoretical. They work for the same company that installs controllers, pulls wire, mounts sensors, and commissions sequences. That field knowledge produces designs that are buildable, maintainable, and efficient to install.
Sequences Written by People Who Commission Them
The team writing your sequences of operation is the same team that will test them during commissioning. This eliminates the gap between “what was specified” and “what actually works” that occurs when design and commissioning are performed by different companies.
Platform-Independent Recommendations
We design across multiple BAS platforms and recommend the architecture that best fits your facility’s needs, existing infrastructure, and long-term goals. We don’t default to one manufacturer because it’s what we carry in stock.
Construction-Ready Deliverables
Our design documents are built for the field, not for a filing cabinet. Points lists, panel layouts, and network diagrams are formatted for the crews who will use them during installation, not just for the engineer’s review stamp.
