Our HVAC/R Construction Capability
Full-System Mechanical Construction From the Ground Up
Our HVAC/R scope covers the complete system — not just the equipment. Dual Temp sets, connects, and starts up rooftop units, split systems, air handlers, chillers, boilers, VRF systems, fan coil units, and commercial refrigeration equipment for projects ranging from single-story retail to multi-story healthcare and institutional facilities.
Ductwork is fabricated in our in-house sheet metal shop and installed by our own field crews. Hydronic, chilled water, and refrigerant piping is installed by our 6G-certified pipefitters. Controls are designed, programmed, and commissioned by our in-house automation team. This vertical integration means the ductwork connects to the equipment the same crew set, the piping feeds the system the same company designed, and the controls sequence was written by the team that understands how the system was built.
We handle complex, multi-phase construction where HVAC installation must be sequenced around structural, electrical, and architectural trades — often in occupied buildings where maintaining existing climate control during construction is a project requirement. Our BIM coordination identifies these sequencing challenges in the model and our project management team builds phasing plans that keep the project on track.
For projects requiring commercial refrigeration — walk-in coolers, process cooling systems, or industrial refrigeration — our crews install refrigerant piping, set condensing units, and perform system startup and commissioning. We hold EPA Section 608 certification for refrigerant handling across all equipment types.
Why Projects Choose Our HVAC Teams
What Makes Our HVAC Scope Different
Every Supporting Trade Is Self-Performed
HVAC construction touches sheet metal, piping, plumbing, and controls — and on most projects, a mechanical contractor subs out at least one of those. We don’t. Our sheet metal fabricators, pipefitters, plumbers, and controls technicians all work for Dual Temp. That’s one schedule, one quality standard, and one company accountable for the complete system.
BIM-Coordinated Installation
HVAC systems compete for ceiling space with electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and structural elements. Our BIM team coordinates the complete mechanical layout in 3D before installation begins — routing ductwork and piping around other trades, maintaining required clearances, and ensuring serviceability access. The field crew installs from the model, not from a flat drawing.
Commissioning and Startup Included
We don’t just install equipment — we commission it. Our controls team verifies every sequence of operation, calibrates sensors and actuators, balances airflow and water flow, and documents system performance. The owner receives a system that’s verified to perform as designed, not just a system that’s connected and powered on.
Cross-Division Service Continuity
After construction closeout, Dual Temp’s Commercial Services division provides ongoing HVAC maintenance, repair, and emergency service for the systems we built. The company that installed your chiller can service your chiller — with institutional knowledge of how the system was designed, installed, and commissioned.
HVAC/R Projects We've Built
HVAC Construction Across Eastern PA and NJ
Dual Temp’s HVAC/R crews have completed full-scope installations for healthcare facilities, schools, universities, commercial office buildings, retail centers, industrial plants, and institutional buildings across Eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. System types include conventional rooftop/air handler systems, chilled water plants, VRF systems, and commercial refrigeration.
