What Our Pipefitting Teams Install
High-Performance Piping for Every Mechanical System
Our pipefitting scope covers the full range of commercial and industrial piping applications. We install hydronic hot water and chilled water loops, steam and condensate systems, natural gas distribution, compressed air mains, refrigerant piping for VRF and conventional split systems, and specialty process piping for healthcare, laboratory, and industrial environments.
Our welders hold 6G certification — the highest pipe welding qualification, certifying competency in all positions including the most difficult fixed overhead configurations. This qualification is required on projects with critical piping specifications, and it demonstrates a level of skill that most mechanical contractors cannot staff in-house. For projects requiring medical gas piping, our crews hold NFPA 99 certification for the installation and testing of oxygen, medical air, vacuum, nitrogen, and waste anesthetic gas disposal (WAGD) systems.
We are highly experienced in VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) piping, which demands precise refrigerant line sizing, proper brazing techniques, nitrogen purge protocols, and rigorous leak testing. VRF piping errors are some of the most expensive mistakes in mechanical construction — incorrect line sizes or contaminated joints can damage compressors and void manufacturer warranties. Our pipefitters understand the specific requirements these systems demand.
All piping installations are BIM-coordinated with our ductwork, plumbing, and controls teams before field installation begins. Routing, elevation, hanger placement, and clearances are resolved in the model — not improvised in the field.
Why Our Pipefitting Scope Is Different
Certified Crews, Coordinated Installations
6G-Certified Welders On Staff
6G certification means our welders are qualified to weld in every position — including fixed overhead, which is where most pipe welding failures occur. This isn’t a credential we sub out for — it’s a standard our in-house team meets. Projects that require certified welding don’t require us to bring in outside labor.
NFPA Medical Gas Certification
Medical gas systems require documented certification, not just experience. Our pipefitters hold NFPA 99 certification for medical gas installation and testing — keeping this critical scope in-house instead of fragmenting it to a specialty subcontractor.
VRF Piping Expertise
VRF systems are increasingly specified on commercial projects, but the refrigerant piping requires precision that most general pipefitting crews aren’t trained for. Our teams understand the line sizing calculations, brazing protocols, pressure testing requirements, and manufacturer-specific installation standards that VRF systems demand.
Cross-Trade Coordination Built In
Our pipefitters work alongside Dual Temp’s sheet metal, plumbing, and controls crews — sharing BIM models, coordinating hangers and routing, and resolving conflicts before they reach the field. When one company self-performs all mechanical trades, the piping always fits.
