Building Controls Designed, Programmed, and Commissioned In-House

The controls make the mechanical system intelligent. Dual Temp’s controls team designs, programs, installs, and commissions integrated building automation systems that manage HVAC, lighting, energy, and facility operations through a centralized platform — all performed in-house by the same company that builds the mechanical systems.

Our Controls and Automation Capability

Integrated Building Automation From Design Through Commissioning

Our controls scope covers the full system lifecycle — not just wiring sensors to a panel. Dual Temp’s controls team develops sequences of operation, selects and installs DDC controllers and field devices, writes and tests control programs, integrates third-party systems, and commissions the completed automation platform to verify performance against design intent.

We install controls for HVAC systems of all types — air handling units, rooftop units, chillers, boilers, VRF systems, fan coil units, and variable air volume (VAV) boxes. Our scope extends to lighting control, energy management, scheduling, alarming, trend logging, and remote monitoring through web-accessible front-end interfaces that give owners visibility into building performance from any device.

Because our controls team works under the same roof as our HVAC, pipefitting, and sheet metal crews, the control system is designed with direct knowledge of how the mechanical system was built. Our programmers understand the equipment, the piping configuration, and the ductwork layout because their colleagues installed it. This eliminates the disconnect that occurs when a third-party controls contractor programs sequences for a system they’ve never seen assembled.

For projects requiring integration with existing building management systems, our team has experience connecting to legacy BAS platforms, adding new controllers to existing networks, and migrating older systems to modern protocols including BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks. Our Building Automation Group provides ongoing support and expansion after construction closeout.

What Makes Our Controls Team Different

Controls Built by the Team That Built the System

In-House Design, Programming, and Commissioning

We don’t subcontract controls. Our controls engineers design the system, our technicians install the devices, our programmers write the code, and our commissioning team verifies performance. One team owns the outcome from the sequence of operation through the final commissioning report.

Direct Integration With the Mechanical Scope

When the controls contractor is a separate company from the mechanical contractor, the controls team is programming sequences for a system they didn’t build and may not fully understand. Our controls team works alongside the crews who installed the ductwork, piped the chiller, and wired the VRF system. That institutional knowledge produces better programming, faster commissioning, and fewer callbacks.

Building Automation Group for Lifecycle Support

After construction closeout, Dual Temp’s Building Automation Group provides ongoing controls support — remote monitoring, system optimization, software updates, and expansion. The company that programmed your BAS during construction continues to support it during operations. No re-learning curve, no lost institutional knowledge.

Open Protocol Architecture

We design controls systems using open, non-proprietary protocols (BACnet, Modbus) so owners aren’t locked into a single vendor for future service and expansion. Your building automation system should work for you, not for the contractor who installed it.
