VRF System Installation for Commercial and Institutional Buildings

Variable Refrigerant Flow systems deliver zoned heating and cooling with exceptional efficiency, but only when the installation meets the precision these systems demand. Dual Temp Construction Services installs VRF systems with self-performed piping, BIM-coordinated layout, and in-house controls programming, giving owners a single contractor accountable for the complete system from rough-in through commissioning.

Our VRF Installation Capability

Precision Installation for Zoned Heating and Cooling

VRF systems deliver independently controlled heating and cooling to multiple zones through a network of refrigerant piping connecting outdoor condensing units to indoor fan coil units, cassettes, and ducted units. Each zone responds to its own thermostat, making VRF an excellent fit for buildings with diverse load profiles: office floors, hotel guest rooms, mixed-use facilities, multifamily residential, and renovation projects where ductwork is impractical or space-constrained.

Our pipefitters install VRF refrigerant lines with proper brazing technique, continuous nitrogen purge, and manufacturer-specific pressure testing. Line sizing, branch selector box placement, refrigerant charge calculation, and oil return management are engineered and verified before installation begins. We install systems from Mitsubishi, Daikin, LG, Samsung, and Fujitsu, following each manufacturer’s installation protocols to protect equipment warranties and ensure long-term reliability.

Because Dual Temp self-performs piping, controls, and sheet metal, VRF installations benefit from the same internal coordination that defines all of our mechanical work. The crew brazing the refrigerant lines talks directly to the crew programming the VRF controller. No subcontractor interfaces, no coordination gaps.

What Sets Our VRF Work Apart

Precision Piping With Controls Integration Built In

VRF Piping Expertise That Protects the Warranty

VRF refrigerant piping errors are among the most expensive mistakes in mechanical construction. Incorrect line sizing can starve compressors, contaminated joints can damage scroll compressors, and improper oil return can cause long-term reliability failures. Our pipefitters are trained on manufacturer-specific installation requirements and every installation follows the brazing, purging, and testing protocols the equipment warranty requires.

In-House Controls Programming and Integration

VRF systems depend on controls to deliver their efficiency benefits. Our controls team programs VRF system controllers, integrates them with the building automation system, and commissions every zone. The controls are programmed by the same company that installed the piping, eliminating the disconnect that occurs when a third-party controls contractor programs a system they didn’t build.

BIM-Coordinated Refrigerant Line Layout

VRF piping routes through ceilings and walls alongside ductwork, plumbing, electrical, and structural elements. Our BIM team models every refrigerant line run, branch selector box location, and indoor unit position in 3D before installation begins, resolving spatial conflicts on screen instead of in the field.

Commissioning That Verifies Whole-System Performance

We don’t just install the equipment and leave. Our commissioning process verifies refrigerant charge, zone response, controller communication, sequence of operations, and integration with the BAS. The owner receives a system that performs as designed, not just a system that’s connected and powered on.

VRF Projects We've Built

VRF Installations Across Eastern PA and NJ

Dual Temp’s teams have installed VRF systems for commercial office buildings, healthcare facilities, educational campuses, hotels, luxury residential developments, and mixed-use buildings across Eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Scopes have included multi-zone heat recovery systems for occupied renovations, new construction VRF packages, and VRF with integrated building automation.
