Two Modes Means Twice the Failure Points
A heat pump running on auxiliary heat around the clock has lost its refrigerant-based heating cycle, usually to a reversing valve that will not shift, a low charge that starves the outdoor coil, or a defrost board letting that coil ice over completely. Operating cost can triple while the building still holds setpoint, which is why the problem often goes unreported until the utility bill arrives. Water running down a wall below an indoor unit is a condensate drainage failure: a line clogged with algae, a cracked pan, or a failed condensate pump. A prolonged whoosh at changeover with capacity loss in one mode indicates a reversing valve leaking hot gas internally, a fault that produces no error code at all.

We confirm the unit actually transfers heat in both directions rather than leaning on electric resistance to cover a mechanical failure.
Ductless Mini-Split & Multi-Split Systems
Wall-mounted, ceiling cassette, and concealed duct indoor units on single and multi-port outdoor systems. Common calls involve condensate drainage, blower wheel fouling that quietly cuts airflow, communication faults between indoor and outdoor units, and refrigerant leaks at flare connections. We clear and verify condensate paths, inspect drain pans and pumps, and pressure test the circuit when charge loss is suspected.
Split System Condensers & Air Handlers
Conventional split systems pairing an outdoor condensing unit with an indoor air handler or furnace coil. Service work covers compressor and contactor testing, TXV and metering device performance, line set integrity, coil condition, and blower operation. We evaluate both halves of the system together, since indoor airflow problems routinely present as outdoor unit complaints.
