Chiller Service Across Eastern PA
Plant-Level Diagnostics, Not Component Guesswork
A chiller that runs continuously without satisfying loop setpoint is undercharged, fouled on one of its heat exchangers, or losing compressor capacity. High head pressure trips point to the condenser side: dirty coils and failed fan motors on air-cooled units, low tower flow or fouled condenser tubes on water-cooled plants. Low oil pressure faults usually trace to refrigerant migrating into the oil sump after a crankcase heater fails, and left alone that condition ends in bearing failure. Reading the fault code is the easy part. Knowing which of five plausible causes produced it is the work.
Our technicians measure approach temperatures across both heat exchangers, compressor amp draw against rated capacity, and loop flow at design conditions before recommending anything. We service chilled water plants in hospitals, data centers, universities, and manufacturing facilities, and because Dual Temp also installs and automates these plants, our service technicians work with knowledge of how the system was built rather than guesses about it.
Chilled Water Systems We Service
The Chiller and Everything Connected to It
Chiller performance depends on the condenser side, the distribution side, and the control sequence as much as the machine itself. We service the complete plant.
Air-Cooled Chillers
Scroll and screw air-cooled packages serving office buildings, schools, and light industrial facilities. Capacity loss and high head pressure trips here typically come from dirty condenser coils, failed condenser fan motors, or fan staging controls that bring fans on too late. We clean and test the condenser section, verify fan cycling, and check refrigerant charge against superheat and subcooling targets rather than adding refrigerant to mask a heat rejection problem.
Water-Cooled Chillers & Cooling Towers
Centrifugal, screw, and scroll water-cooled machines with their supporting tower, condenser water pumps, and water treatment. Elevated entering condenser water temperature, fouled condenser tubes, and low tower flow all present at the chiller as a head pressure fault. We evaluate tower performance, condenser water flow, and tube condition as part of the diagnosis, and coordinate tube cleaning and eddy current testing when readings call for it.
Chilled Water Distribution & Controls
Primary and secondary pumps, variable frequency drives, control valves, air separators, and the sequences that run them. Building complaints often originate in distribution rather than production: a pump running at fixed speed, a control valve stuck open, or a reset schedule that never lets the plant unload. Our building automation technicians review the actual operating sequence and correct it alongside the mechanical repair.
